I'm an illustrator/writer/educator from Columbus, Ohio. I have lived in Tokyo for the past twenty odd years. I've worn many hats throughout that time; though everything I've done ties into my passion for communicating, and creating. Combining words with images is a particular passion of mine. And children and animals are two of my favorite subjects for drawing, especially when the two interact in revealing ways. So this book sort of represents the tying together of many strings. I guess it's as autobiographical a book as can be, considering the subject is a very small girl and her very unique ferret!
Friend of ferrets, liberator of lions, singer of new songs and lover of little pachyderms, Meg has her own perspective of the world from the vagaries of time to the delights of wondering where a butterfly goes. She and her ferret take on to-do lists, two wheelers and the true definition of being special in verse and line drawings that are both simple and profound.
A little pilot.
A big problem.
A story for anyone who has ever lost, and then found, his wings.
